GRADE 7 & 8 BAND: 7th and 8th Grade Day 2 Silver Band members: Remember to bring your band shirts on Thursday for our yearbook pictures. Day 1 Blue Band pictures will be on Friday.


STATE HONOR BAND: Five Forestview Band students were selected for the 6-8th Grade State Honor Band! From 8th grade, Preston Owen, Mallory Maine, Kimmy Hall, and Thomas Anakkala and from 7th Grade Erika Christenson. 315 students tried out across the state of MN and only 80 were selected from a very difficult recorded audition that took months to prepare. They will have a concert at Edina High School on April 27th. Congratulations on all of you hard work!


ELECTIVE CHOICES: 6th & 7th grade students - Remember to turn in your forms for your elective choice for next year as soon as possible. They are due on Monday, February 17. Please turn these into the Counseling Office.


LIFTATHON: 8th graders: If you are interested in participating in the 2014 Sertoma Liftathon at the high school, you can pick up the information from 7th grade Mr. Sanford or Mr. Martin in team 6D.


Make Up Skiing Day: 2/14 - 6D Ski Gull & 2/17 - 6C Ski Gull (rescheduled from 2/10)


LOST & FOUND: A flute and case were found. Please stop in the main office to see Terri Henrikson if it may be yours.


COMMUNITY ED:

HAT DAY: Forestview has a Special HAT DAY on Friday, February 14, to raise money for the New Pathways program providing services to homeless families. Plan now to wear your Favorite HAT!.


TENNIS: Grade 5 After School Tennis (Instructors: Lisa Salo & Staff)

Learn basic skills such as racket handling, racket/ball control, stroke development, games and FUN! Rackets and tennis balls will be provided. Class size is limited. Deadline to register is Mar 4.

Dates: Mar 17 - Mar 27/Mon - Thur; Time: 3-4:30 pm; Sessions 8; Cost is $35.


FMS SPORTS:

SPEECH TEAM: Congratulations Brainerd Junior High Speech team for a successful first meet at Cass Lake.  Luke Norquist took first place in discussion, Ronan Pritschet, Kirsten Schroer and Dani Dotseth all earned honorable mentions in humorous interpretation and Adam Kleist was fourth in extemporaneous speaking. Great job!
